The BOS Council is the heart of the Society and relies on both long-standing servants and newcomers with ideas and enthusiasm. We are currently looking for volunteers in these roles:
Look after internal communications, prepare minutes from meetings, act as first point of contact for members and potential members! Work closely with the Chair and keep control of our meeting schedules. The role is primarily administrative, so you don’t need to have a deep origami background.
Deal with incoming requests for commercial work and provide information about the Society to the media. Help to develop and implement marketing strategies through a sub-group of volunteers. Work closely with the webteam. Familiarity with origami would be very useful in best presenting the Society.
Both posts would require familiarity with use of email and (ideally) social media. You would be expected to attend 4 meetings per year (all travel expenses are covered) and to take part in online discussions. In addition, you will be trained to add information to the website in your relevant areas. Your period of service would be 12 months, after which you can be nominated for the following year!
Please contact the Chair (or any other Council member) if you would like to learn more.
